Participating communities are committed to providing a clean drinking water supply for all local users. This indicator incorporates standards for total coliform, turbidity, and water pathogens. Data for this indicator is available from the community’s water supply utility and is typically reported annually in a Water Quality Report or Consumer Confidence Report. The indicator leans on EPA’s drinking water standards which are intended to protect public health by setting limits on levels of contamination.
