In 2015 Devens drinking water met or surpassed all federal and state drinking water quality standards. The water system was also in full compliance with all other federal and state requirements in 2015. Our Water Resource Protection Overlay Zoning helps ensure that development occurs in a sustainable manner and protects surface and groundwater quality. Low-impact development (LID) techniques such as reduced development footprints, green roofs, bio-filtration landscape islands, street trees, porous pavement, reinforced turf all contribute to innovative and clean groundwater recharge closest to the source.
