For many areas of the country, the current climate is already measurably different from historical climate conditions. Common indicators of climate change are higher annual average temperatures and rising surface water levels, both in coastal and some inland communities. Serious impacts of climate change may include flooding, drought, prolonged heat waters, and/or increased frequency of extreme storm events.

This indicator evaluates the resilience of built, natural, economic, and social systems to climate change impacts. Data is supplied by communities and is based on a community vulnerability assessment.
